Emblem of austerity or subversion, the luxury industry as well as alternative culture,

black is inseparable from contemporary aesthetic dress.

To understand my relation with black, I would have to tell you about this childhood nightmare.

I would do the same dream night after night, wandering endlessly in a white nothingness.

Out of nothing would come black, sometime flooding, sometime rolling

but always overwhelming, tainting emptiness with the darkest of black.

It is only later that I realised that black was a warm feeling.

When tucked in the arm of the dark waters I would find peace and sanity.
